This is one of the most famous gazebos or pavilions in Australia. On 1 January 1901 Lord Hopetoun signed the documents that established the Commonwealth of Australia in this pavilion. The pavilion was moved to Cabarita Park in Sydney and Sir Kenneth Street, Lt-Governor of NSW was present at the 50th anniversary of the first Federal Parliament Meeting held in Melbourne in 1901. This photo was taken at that anniversary in 1951. (photo City of Canada Bay).
